Dear Brother Key,
On behalf of the TWU Local 555 members in California and Florida who were subjected to unjust suspensions during the holiday season, I would like to sincerely thank the members of AMFA National, AMFA Local 4, AMFA Local 11, and AMFA Local 32 for your generous support.
Suspended TWU Local 555 members faced the holidays with no income, but your kind donations made a difference to members and their families during an extremely difficult time. Donations were used to help suspended members with basic necessities such as staying current on utility bills and rent. Members were grateful for the assistance and it meant so much to them that our brothers and sisters at AMFA cared and offered support, especially during the holiday season.
Our suspended members have since returned to work and we are currently fighting the unjust suspensions and discipline through the grievance process. It is appalling that hardworking TWU members had their incomes stripped, but the support and generosity of AMFA was relieving to our member's in their time of need. As you have demonstrated, our strength stems from working collectively and supporting one another. Once again, thank you for your generosity and for the unprecedented display of solidarity.
